I found this table on desiretoinspire.net, and it reminded me of one that my great aunt has in north Mississippi. She has a ranch-style house with a kitchen that opens to the living room, brick floors, and a wonderfully large picnic-style table for lots of people to come dine around. I hope to have something of the like for everyday eating, one day in my dream house (or this would also make a perfect back-porch table for summer eating). This table says, “The more, the merrier” and begs for lots of good conversation, food, family, and friends.
Oh…and speaking of tables…I LOVE this table and saw it in person last week at Restoration Hardware…stunning. This could be a beautiful formal dining look that has a little bit of flair. The only thing this room needs is some color. Just imagine this table decorated for Christmas…
And, I would use these gorgeous lanterns above the table, which I found thanks to urban grace interiors (one of my very favorite blogs).
I also kind of love this rope chandelier from Pottery Barn for a more laid-back look.
I think this fabric swatch is really cool, too. It’s from Calico Corners.
And another swatch that I liked:
Okay, enough thinking of dream tables and dining rooms for today. Sometimes, I just have to play with interiors. Until my next dream…
