What am I doing to kick off the 4th of July weekend? I’ll give you a hint:
That’s right…EARTH. WIND. FIRE.
Actually, Earth, Wind, and Fire—the band.
Oh yeah…going old school. Really old school. I gotta say…I’m pumped. Who doesn’t sing along to “September,” no matter what age you are? Stop laughing. You know you do.
So, my mom LOVES Earth, Wind, & Fire. My family has always had a wide-array of music loves, and growing up we were always blasting something in the house. Dad was blaring Pink Floyd and Elton John. Mom loved Stevie Wonder, Michael Jackson, and anything funk. I’m so thankful that they introduced me to so much variety in music at such a young age. As usual, I digress.
So I get the Ticket Master emails with the “Who Is Coming Close To You” links. One particular day, I get one that tells me Earth, Wind, and Fire is coming to Alpharetta, GA. BINgo. “How funny and fun would this be?,” I think. I purchase the tickets, and my sister and I surprise the fam and the boyfriends with tickets. They were thrilled. They didn’t even know they were still performing.
It will be one of the hottest nights of the summer, I’m sure, but I can’t wait to see this ol’ band jam out…and hopefully dance like they do in this video. By the way, watch this video and tell me you’re still in a bad mood. If you are, you’re lying. I think this is what it means to really feel the music:
