There is so much bad advertising out there, and even just a lot of mediocre advertising. Because of this, it’s easy to get numb to it all. But then there’s that reminder: that really good piece that makes an impact on you in some way. You find yourself watching and thinking, “I want to see that again.”
That is good advertising. Advertising that makes a connection-that makes you remember the product or company. And I still get excited when I see it.
If you watch any tv, you’ve probably seen all of these, but they are definitely discussion worthy.
This one, no surprise, is by Wieden+Kennedy. It’s already gotten tons of buzz and critical acclaim, and with the Olympics just weeks away, you’ll see it play lots.
Although I don’t use Bing very often, this commercial made me think, “Maybe I should use Bing sometime.” I’ll give it to them-they put out great commercials. And they hit the nail on the head with the “social search”. Using the breakout band, The Lumineers, song “Ho Hey” was incredibly smart. The song puts out the perfect vibe. I want to move to Hawaii after this commercial…
Music: The Lumineers, Ho Hey
Everytime I see this, I want to take a cross-country trip. And it ends in one of my favorite cities in the world-NYC. With this commercial, you’ll think, why not download that song that fits your road trip vibe so perfectly? Why not?
Having trouble finding the agency, but when I do, I’ll post.
Song to play: New York Groove, Ace Frehley
