For this week’s Friday Tune, I’m highlighting a song that is near and dear.
My husband and I love NPR’s Tiny Desk Concerts. He discovered Goat Rodeo Sessions through this segment sometime last year and sent to me. We were blown away.
If you’ve followed my blog, you know that I have a serious music crush on Chris Thile (I’m happily married, mind you). He is clearly a musical genius, and for this song, he joins several other musical prodigies (Yo-Yo Ma, Stuart Duncan, & Edgar Meyer). Aoife O’Donovan appears for the female vocals, and she is down-right impressive. This song is not only one of the most complex pieces I’ve heard in modern times, but it’s also very hard to sing.
Without further adue, I give you The Goat Rodeo Sessions:
Just feeling like some old school DJ Jazzy Jeff & Fresh Prince today…
I do love the 90s…
TGIF! Hope your day has a little bit of “summertime” in it somewhere.
And yes, I know that it’s not technically summer yet.
